BX-ESR-408 Solid silicone resin
This Solid silicone resin provides excellent heat resistance, weather resistance, color retention, and gloss stability. It also features high hardness, strong reactivity, and good compatibility. When blended with acrylic, polyester, epoxy, or other organic resins, it significantly enhances heat and weather resistance. It particularly improves resistance to chalking and cracking. As a solid at room temperature, it can be directly added or compounded into heat- and weather-resistant powder coatings.

| Note: The above data are for reference only and are not guaranteed technical specifications. *Supplementary explanations: 1. For “Volatile matter%”, the recommended test methods are Chinese National Standards: GB/T 6284-2016 (Determination of moisture and volatile matter in chemical products) or GB/T 1725-2007 (Determination of non-volatile matter content of paints, varnishes and plastics)—both use the gravimetric principle (heating the sample at a specified temperature to measure mass loss, calculating volatile matter content); 2. A volatile matter content of ≤3% indicates the solid resin has minimal evaporable components (e.g., residual solvents, small-molecule monomers), which avoids defects like shrinkage or bubbling during processing (e.g., melting, curing) and ensures stable product performance; 3. The softening point range of 60-100℃ provides moderate thermal plasticity—suitable for scenarios like hot-melt processing (low-temperature melting) or high-temperature use (resisting softening at ambient temperatures); 4. “Solubility in toluene (1:1)” (clear and transparent) confirms good compatibility with aromatic solvents, facilitating applications such as solvent-based coating formulation. | ||
Ⅱ. Recommend applications
1 Used in the powder coating industry, improving heat resistance and weather resistance. Has less impact on the recoating properties than other solid silicone resin;
2 Used in heat-resistant industrial coatings, usually it can be added directly by means of compounding. The effect of different adding ratios on temperature resistance is the more critical, and the generally recommended introduced amount should be ≥15%(calculated by effective solid content). More balanced performance would further provide if introduced by means of polymerization grafting.
3 Used in weather-resistant polysiloxane coatings, combined with organic silicone resin, giving the coating weatherability and salt spray resistance. It meets the standards of HG/T 4755-2014 polysiloxane coatings
Ⅲ. Packaging and Storage
Generally be packed in 50kg plastic inner lining paper drums, sealed stored in a cool and dry environment under 25℃. The shelf life is generally 12 months from the date of production.
Ⅳ. Instructions
When this product is compounded used, it can be added directly or dissolved in solvent and then added to organic resin to prepare coating; when it is grafting modified used, the reaction process should be tested by glass test method to ensure entirely grafting. When used as powder coating, it can be carried out according to the general powder coating operation process.
